Hey everyone, I'm looking for some recommendations for budget edc flashlights. In reference to the recommendation checklist, here's what I'm looking for:
1. To purchase online
2. Budget is < $40
3. Format - flashlight
4. Size - Every day carry medium (4-7 inches)
5. Emitter/Light source - LED
6. Manufacturer - mass produced
7. Battery type - preferably AAA or AA and hopefully runs ok on alkalines
8. OTF Light - In the "I want to walk around an unlit rural area (50-150 lumens)" to "I want to illuminate my entire backyard or a campsite (150-300 lumens)" range
9. Throw vs. Flood - not sure yet
10. Runtime - 5+ hours at the least bright mode
11. Durability/Usage - I want to be able to drop it, don't need to run over with a Mack truck
12. Switch type - anything except the ones where you twist the cap
13. Mode selection - at least 2 brightness modes
14. Material - aluminum or steel
My top pick right now is the Fenix E21. Also saw this Romisen recommended on the forums. Any other recommendations? I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts. Thanks!
