I've got two new 9.6v packs for my DeWalt. Haven't even taken them out of the package yet. Is there any adavantage in pampering them in some way before first use, or just throw them in the charger? I recall long ago someone mentioning that the best way is to take the thing apart, discharge each cell individually, then charge the pack as a whole. Excessively anal? Also, I use my drill only occasionally. Is the best practice to (1) never use the battery pack beyond the point where the drill begins to noticeably slow, and (2) charge before using if it has sat for a couple months? Thanks.
