:wow:
hburner,
I read with
horror your description of what happened! I'm very sorry about your experience. I'm an M6 owner and you had my worst nightmare come true. I too recently got a new M6 with a LOLA coupon but was told to wait til March 06 for the new batch to be made. I was disappointed by that and I scoured every dealer I could find and NADA were the results. Where on Earth did you find one?
I was irritated by the fact that my new M6 had some idiots thumb print smudged on the surface of my NIB M6's reflector but neglected to send back because I dont want to be without my fave light for 2 weeks or more, its a small detail anyway just annoying.
I have instaflashed two MN21 bulbs experimenting with rechargeable battery packs of my own design, finally have a pack that works awesome with more than 20 batt cycles on it and no monostrobe. Brighter and whiter with no dimming, either (slight MN21 overdrive). But the agony of $30/sec mistakes was traumatizing, at least they contained their self-destruct inside the bulb itself although there were hairline fractures in the glass envelopes. My worst fear was splattering debris inside that work of art reflector. I could live with a Mag explosion, but in my SF M6 I would have a heart attack! Very strange that right from the package it grenaded! I know they are pressurized xenon filled so to be extra careful compared to reglar halogens, but right from the box - im just horrified.
Hey Size 15s, I want pics and more details of this MN21 Vegas hot tub incident! This needs to be evaluated in more detail by the Forum like the exploding Pelican M6 sticky. Well, maybe I shouldnt use the term sticky and hot tub together... A forensic analysis would be entertaining! Was the light actually submerged? What is the extent of the water resistance of an M6? You've exceeded the envelope there and am curious of just how far you went. All in the same of science. You did a very brave thing indeed.
