Any Norton Protected Recycle Bin equivalent programs (free)

I decided to rid my system of all norton apps and try others but one thing I miss is the Norton Protected recycle bins which enables me to retreive recently deleted files whether deleted manually by myself or automatically with another program. Any good free equivalents out there? I suppose an undelete program might do the same.

P.S. I am currently trying a program called freeundelete but it has to scan my whole drive. In five minutes, it still hasn't finished. I like the fact that Norton already had the files there.
