It's probably a copyright violation to scan those ads and then post them...

...might want to get a moderator to chime in first?

Just a suggestion tho'

Ouch, didn't know that. I thought it was legal to scan the SF ad, and show it... (Seen people scan parts of articles off the magizine as long as its only the article and they refer to the source...)
Mods, is this okay for me to do or don't try this idea?

I've already seen them. I like the latest one for the M6... "Go ahead, punk, make my night."

Copyright violation or not, I find it hard to believe that anybody would complain about free advertising.

Yeah, its not as if you are posting up centrefold babes and thus hurting their sales since no one will need to buy the magazine.

Technically, its copyright violation but this is not done for any commercial gain and on the contrary is helping their advertising, so it's arguable. Let's classify it as "for educational purposes", which is non subject to the copyright law (well at least over here it's not).

Or let's call it "less than 5%" of the entire publication, so its not a copyright violation either (against the magazine tho, not SF). haha..

Why not call SureFire and ask them for a jpg of the ad. They may even host it for you if it's online already.

(BTW, which ad is it?)

A lot.
Sun one
Moon one
E2D (Misc ones)
Etc...

Edit:These are REAL paper advertisements in the magizine, they're really cool (Newer ones are good, old ones good, middile ones kinda boring with a random model of choice and small story on top left)

Size15, this is an example of one of the advertisements I have

Oh boy, I caught a spelling error on their end

"The Aviator is O-ring sealed for waterproof dependability dependability and come with a black oxide coated staniless steel pocket clip"
Staniless...

"...and nobody will hear your screams."

Ok, that may be true, but it's a little creepy to see it in an ad like that.

Navck, you could post them to Imageshack, which will make it an issue between you, Imageshack and Surefire. Then, instead of posting the images, post links to your images.

Noting the size of your example image, a "lot" of those images would end up being a severe frustration to any of our dial-up members that ends up trapped in the thread with them loading. With a list of links, everyone could decide for themselves if they want to download them.

I'll plan to make a low-resolution version of these for the dialup users.
But these are for the "broadband enabled"
But is this legal to do? (Share it, no profit gained, delete them.)
Its just for CPF

If there are no issues, I would be very interested in seeing some more SF ads.

No, it's not legal to do without Surefire's consent. As I said, you can post links to wherever else you might upload them, but that will be between you, your hosting service, and Surefire.
