HID Camping/Emergency Lantern

Does anyone make an HID camping lantern? You know, the type you'd use at a campsight as an area light (like a fluorescent one)? I think that given the light per amp of the HID this would make a great combination. Of course, the cost would be very high.

Fluorescent lamps are almost as efficient as HID. The main advantage of HID vs fluorescent is the ability to focus the HID beam. For an "area" lantern, this focusing ability is not needed.

I did paint the reflector of one of my Costco HIDs with a high temperature white paint to turn it into an area light. It now puts out a broad, even, directional beam.
