This weekend, I learned how to weave paracord from lighthound's website:

I just think it's amazing, to put on your keychain, a small "fob" that holds up to 8 linear feet of paracord. Who know's when that could come in handy? Paracord is tough stuff, even with the inner strands removed.

At first thought, I remember that poor bastard who got his hand cought between a "rock and a hard place". Don't know his name, but he had a boulder crush and capture his hand for several days while hiking somewhere out west. I remember that he used some rope that he had to make a way to sit down. This was all he could do for several days before finaly amputating his own hand to escape...

So here we go. I hope this hasn't been done before. I've searched CPF and only found a few good folks who are willing to make and sell these little life savers.

Please post pictures of your creations. And describe how you made them, or where you found instruction on making them.

Here is my entry:

This first one is a simple square knot (repeated and repeated). This fob has approximately 4 linear feet of paracord. The paracord has it's inner strands removed.



This second photo is black and white paracord, added up there is a total of 8 linear feet of cord (4' black, 4' white). It was too big to add to a keychain, so I opted to "loop" it. Perhaps this is someting one could cary in their pack, rather than on a keychain...



Also, I did something that I had not yet seen on previous posts... I used a "cord lock" device to finish off my fobs. I think that other here where either melting or hot-gluing the ends to make a finished product. I think the cord-lock is a much better solution. I plan on carying the first fob on my keychain.
