What kind of camera/lens are you using to get those details. I am looking for a new camera.

I'm using a Sony DSC-F828. It's small CCD-Sensor is great for macro-shots. (2cm min. distance)
But I want to upgrade to the sucessor of the Canon 20D.

The key to good pictures is ... light! I use the Sony F32 to bounce the light off the ceiling. Sometimes I use a second flashlight (Canon Speedlite 540EZ) via a slave-sensor.

According to the description at waions sales-thread it's a Lux-I. But its brighter than my Q3 which should have a Lux-III.
With NiMh it puts out the same amount of light as the Fenix L2P does.

Here some measurements from my shoe-box IS:
(shoe-box w/ hole and luxmeter filled w/ shrink-wrap-foil)

Morpho-1:
CR123: 60
RCR123 (3.0V): 68
Alk-AA: 63
NiMh-AA: 54
NiCd-AA: 53

for comparison:

Q3 CR123: 44
Q3 RCR123-3,0V: 51
Fenix L1P Alk-AA: 43
Fenix L1P NiMh-AA: 40
Fenix L2P Alk-AA: 55
Jil 1.3 Up: 66
Gladius CR123: 88
Gladius RCR123-3,0V: 89

Fantastic pics. Maybe you can get a bonus from the manufacturer.

Wow, great pics and video!

The color and machining of the production pieces look nicer than the proto that Waion showed. I really like the darker finish. Since it uses an optic, how's the throw compared to the Q3?

Re: Morpho-1 from Waion (lots of pictures + video)

As for the download speed of your video, I'm downloading it as we speak and it started at about 150 KB/sec and it has alternated between 124 and 150 KB/sec.

Those are amazing pics!

So... how about a subjective review? How do you actually like it? How's the clickie? Hows the beam pattern? I love the idea of the light, and if I can swap in an IMS 20 or McR20 reflector, I'll probably get one, but I'm not crazy about optics.

Edit - also, have you tried measurements with a 3.7-4.2V R123 with the Morhpo and the Q3? Waion said in the original thread it is supposed to be safe with 3.7V R123s. Only reason I ask is the Q3 gets quite a bit brighter with the 3.7V vs a primary 123 cell.

Wow! That's ok I think. Fast even half around the globe.
But I tried to watch it on a slow pc and it stuttered. If more of you have that problem, tell me and I'll upload a smaller version.
Also if someone want a hires version of the pictures. Just pm me.

Actually this is my first light with optics. I like the beam pattern way more then the "softer" beam of the Q3. It has a very bright distinctive hotspot and a relativ small darker ring around it. Not really much sidespill.
Very impressiv is the tint. Its just slightly on the blue side, but when I'll buy a HDS EDC U85GT someday, I want it this white!

I don't like the clip. I don't know for what it should be usefull. I'll remove it.

The clickie seems to be identical to the one of the Q3. Just a little softer. I like the larger surface of the rubbercap.

I do not have 3.7V R123's. But I think it'll be just a little bit brighter, because those 3.0V rechargeable I used are measured up to 3.9V open circuit.

As for my measurements: I have to tell you, these are the absolutly maximum values with fresh batteries. It's likely that the output will drop alot in the first seconds. A true runtime plot would be more significant.

Waion? Can you tell us the name of the company? I can't believe that this will be the first and last light of this company.
The name "Morpho-1" has been picked by you, right?

You mean kilobytes per second (kBps), right?
AFAIK kbps means kilobits per second.
b = bits
B = Bytes

But thanks for your feedback. Video runs smooth?

Hey man your video was awesome, can you make some more on the other lights you have? If possible can you switch them on in some shots too? This is a fantastic idea, a movie is always better than a still pic. Oh and the song was cool too!
