Why don't you set up a simplex freq. on 2 m with PL encode and decode so you guys can keep radios on and only hear each other, something simple like 147.555 simplex and Pl of 100. Just a thought, have fun.:wave:

How about 146.550? To avoid the chatter on 146.520?

I always bring my HF rig on the road, I have a beautiful setup for hotel rooms, always get a corner room on the top floor with a balcony and clamp a texas bug catcher to the iron raling and drop 30 or 40 feet of counterpoise, works great, just don't tell anybody, and bring your scanner, you want some laughs, listen to the hotel staff and security, quite a treat!!
