While playing w/ my new M@G85, I have figured out that if 3D->9AA do that well, what will a 6D->18AA do?

So, can anyone point me along to a project using the 6D body w/ a high power incandescent? I don't want another M@G85 with more capacity, i'd like something brighter, fully utilizing the 6D body.

Thanks!

here you go buddy the Mag35-8 were talking 1300-1500 lumens. 8C in a 6d mag powering a westinghouse 35W bulb. its a full 600 lumens brighter than a mag85 and still has a 40 minute runtime! i think this is a great, if not the best mod for the 6d mag! good luck and enjoy!

6D? :huh2:

You guys must be super strong or have a back-pack to carry a 6D. I even find the M*g Charger (just a 3D!) way too heavy for my taste

If you haven't already, check out my latest MR16 mod.

It's currently using a 4D (est almost 3000+ lumens) cuz that's the max I would carry, but a 5D would run it at full spec (nearer 6000 lumens). A 6D will overdrive the bulb (I don't know how well this bulb takes to overdriving; its a 500 hour life bulb though, not one of those 20-50 hour types) for even more lumens, who knows how much (7000+?)

Runtime is unknown, prob not long. But for a show light, I guess 10-15 mins is enough. Am currently working on transplanting the bulb into a narrower angle reflector. Or maybe a proper alu reflector like those used in the Mag35 and Mag100R. But I stuck to MR16s cuz they were cheaper to mess around with. :)
