So I bought a gerber iu from REI today. seems like a great light. It is brighter than my new version x1, and runtime seems very good. What I am wondering is why everyone prefers the cmg to the gerber?
Older model had an elegant, simple, and rock solid mechanical design which the new one "improved on" to many enthusiasts' disappointment.
Oh, ok so it's not that much worse off just different. I kind of like the momentary on, and the ability to tailcap stand in the gerber version.

The thing I don't like about my infinities is the tendency of the battery to compress the pcb section, or the other way around.
