Graphs with no real labels on the Y axis make me :green: How "search volume" can correlate with real world trends may be a stretch (I can see the link, but not everybody is online, etc.) ...

Something tells me "cpf" stands for something besides our forum, if one looks at the A through D event listings. Are they indeed related to this CPF? I haven't been here long enough to remember back to 2005 and 2004. Comparing Maglites and other specific brand names works, but something as ambigous as CPF may just run the search results all over the place. Another interesting gadget from Google.

I found that the search term 'flashlight' displayed an obvious seasonal spike from mid-October thru early January. It only makes sense, as most product oriented search surges during the holiday buying season.

I suspect there is also a seasonal aspect to posting and other activity on CPF and other flashlight-related sites. A holiday spike lasting about three months or so, and a smaller one in the late spring (camping-oriented.) Lower activity periods are probably early spring (wow...DST) and late summer (people on vacation and worrying about back-to-school...not flashlights.)

Just my two pesos tho'...
