Thread: What's the brightest ~8V bi-pin I can buy?

    Default What's the brightest ~8V bi-pin I can buy?

I want to modify the bulb assembly of a Microfire M3 (LEDS plus halogen bulb) by removing the existing blown bulb from the assembly, removing the regulator, and direct-driving a new one from rechargeable cells.

To do that will require a very bright bulb able to handle those cells off the charger in the 8V range. Any candidates?

Welch Allyn 1274 comes to mind.

There's also Fivemega's axial filament bulb if you prefer a rounder spot. Like the 1274 it's usually used with 7AA NiMH.
