Marc, I think it will be good to use the K2 in the Raw Da.

The Ns will be back in stock at the end of this month, Same as when the Da's will be Machined.

Latest experimental efforts with hardening & etching of the Damascus.
The steel after hardening (1000 Deg Cel) is now stainless & the contrast is strong. We also Sandblasted the finish, this adds a sparkle to the finish.
The Machined Raw Da's will be ready this month, Then I can finalize the hardening & etching.

As I suspected, the pattern is far more spectacular at the top and bottom than the sides. But hey, it still looks totally awesome

Certain parts of the bars are fine others are costing a small fortune in Tips, Drills, end mills etc. We have managed to get 20 with the Raw Da Logo & 1 Slot for the Locator, There is a further 8 without Logo or Slot.
Second Op work is now being done & I should take delivery in the next day or two.
We are sending just one away for Vacuum hardening (VH) before the whole batch goes just to make sure the results are good!!!

Then just as a gentle warning if the whole batch come back from the VH I would like to take payments. But Not Until Then

Photo's will be posted of the batch before VH (Next Few Days) Then when the sample comes back from VH & of course the VH whole Batch (Every thing crossed again).

Here is my best result after Vacuum hardening & Etching:

I hope this meets every body's expectation's? It is a nice deep etch, you can feel the textures. I will be sending the whole batch away this week now for VH.
When they arrive back I will then etch them. Polish & final assembly.
I do hope to begin taking payments towards the end of this week.
