I am interested in building a laser. But I am a newb. Where is the best place to learn as much detail as possible specifically for pointers/handhelds. I have found this website that sells various parts. From what i understand a red laser basically consist of a diode, optics and then the actual circuit. basically my goal for the next few weeks until my PGL-IIIA arrives is to become as knowledgeable as possible and hopefully maybe even build a laser from scratch by time it gets here.(not anything crazy, just a simple red laser. Hopefully making one similar to WL Pulsar series)

I stumbled on this website . its a very good site and has TONS of info on the inner workings. For you veteran lazer hobbiests, you may not be learning anything but for newbs like me its a rather complete compendium of information regarding lasers.
