in my newwish it has apc(well it did til i ripped it out) lol.
my question is this, could you rig up the apc sensor and work out what power the laser is putting out?
im thinking this because if the apc is set up and working the laser is suposed to stay below a certin rating yes?
so could you fire the laser in to it and get some sort of reading and then do some maths to work out the power?
or is this just the same as using an led?

O'm not sure I understood you question but...

I don't think it'll be easy, but it can be done. The APC is basically a photodiode connected to a feedback module on the driver board. if you have the photodiode, it's a matter of connecting it to an amp meter and calibrating it to a known laser output.

Hope this helps

I have tried this, the APC module is very sensitive to position, and the reading seems to be nonlinear. If you were able to characterise it, though, it could be done.
