NTSB may be blaming Li-ion batteries for bringing down an airplane

But given that the laptop carrying public is the portion of the passenger manifest that keeps most airlines afloat these days, I wouldn't expect to see the prohibition of laptops or their batteries from passenger aircraft anytime soon.

Okay - so I just bought a new dive light that uses rechargeables (Barbolight U-15, uses 2 18650s). When I take my next dive trip (August) do I:

1. Put it in my checked baggage and risk some TSA dude inspecting it, opening it up to check the batteries, replacing the batteries backwards, or some other even worse scenario?

2. Put it in my carry-on and suffer through the inspection?
