Default (CLOSED) BI-PIN SOCKET FOR MN LAMP ASSEMBLY BY FIVEMEGA

    CLOSED

Here is some more innovation from Fivemega.
Bi pin ceramic socket for MN series bulb.
Simply insert a G4 bi pin bulb such as Welch Allyn on this socket which matches your battery voltage and use it as MN lamp assembly. No further modification needed.
Best bulbs to work with M6 original battery configuration is WA1111 and WA1274
    Possible to use with CL1057 or WA1111 in M4 using 2 AW's new 17670
However, there are many other bulbs to work with this configuration.
It is highly recommended to center bulb to get best beam shape. I will include some shims to adjust bulb fillament height.
    Price:
$46 for 1st socket and $44 for each additional socket
    Shipping to States $3
    Internationaly $5

Higher fillament bulbs such as Osram 64275AX can be used but won't focus properly.
Provided focusing shims can tolerate 2mm fillament height difference.
WA1111 and WA1274 are perfect match without need of shims.

Here is a quick review of the module I received. My particular sample was a little too wide (maybe the nickel coating was too thick???), but it was easily fixed. The module works great and as you can see in my review, I am already putting the module to good use. Thanks FM for making these available to us

    Yes you can.
How do you want to power it? 3x17500 or 5x123 in extended body?

The 1166 is rated at 11.6V so I believe I can run it at 12V. Is there anything wrong with that? If so, please let me know which bulb I should use instead.

I just don't understand why it is necessary to drive a bulb above its rated voltage. Can someone explain?
