you'll need a focusing lense to burn anything.

What the heck dude? You only gave people 4 minutes to reply before you started complaining. This isn't a freaking chat room.

While I would have chosen gentler words and expression, basically ericg533 is correct. Please do not pursue this point any further, the issue is settled.

There is a type of perfection that transcends the quest for lumens. Buying a $250 1-cell light for "lum factor" is like buying a $250 single malt Scotch for the alcohol content.

I don't know if wicked was hit, I don't even know where they're located, but I know one thing, China is VERY big. Chances are they were spared .

Even if the worst happened, they are a reputed company, so at most you'll have to wait a little more for you laser to arrive.

On the other hand, be a little more patient for responses. For example, If I wanted to reply at the exact moment you posted your question, I would've searched for the typhoon's location, intended path, etc. Then I would've searched for wickeds location in China, and then correlated both infos to give you an accurate answer. That, I'm sure, would've taken more than 4 mins .

    cheers

watch out not to use lithium batteries they will fry it, you will probly need a lens to burn things but if you dont want to use a lens try burning from a dist this seems to help

That is weird, does anyone have an explanation for why doing it at a distance would be more effective then close? Also what is with the pular technology to make a 150mw laser not be able to catch things on fire?

It won't catch things on fire because its beam diameter is abour 2.5-3mm. The energy is too spread out for it to light matches or burn tape etc without further focusing. The greens do these things because they have an initial beam diameter of about 1mm. It pops balloons at a great distance, but might not do so up close because they seem to focus at about 15 feet (give or take). So at this distance the beam is smaller then it is leaving the aperture, which means more energy/area at this distance.
