I just finished mounting the 5 watt RB into the 2C aluminum flashlight. WOW!

This thing is amazing!

Contrary to what I thought, it lights up the outside quite brightly. It is a mistake to shine it on a wall, and look at the reflection! OUCH!

It is the same as this flashlight:

LithiumStar

Except that it is using the very blue Royal Blue LED.

The light is running 9v direct drive.

If you click on the "LithiumStar" link on Elektrolumens post above you will find details of the cyan version (exactly the same as this apart from LED colour)

what kind of collimating optics did you use?

doesnt look like the nx05...

also, i have some 1 w ls/o...and i like the stock optics, overall. the front is concave with a convex dimple at the center. seems to provide a nice "tight flood". (the nx05 is the collimater with the flat face, correct?)

your work is very inspirational...!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'm using the LXHL-NX05 style optics. Sounds like you are using the older style, which has the concave face. The newer ones have a flat face.

Thanks.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">No. Batteries aren't fresh anymore. Need to get some new ones. I'd like to measure the light output using fresh batteries.
