I have a pile or a series of piles of batteries (everywhere) that are used up but not to the point of totally not working. They are dim, and nowhere near their optium level of brightness. What do I do with those?

I know one trick to get more life out of batteries is to beat them vigorously against a concrete floor or something hard, and a dead battery that doesn't give your LED any light at all will work for maybe 10-15 minutes.

Although when they get to this stage, I do throw them out.

One my old mates did a bit of time at 'Her Majesty's pleasure'...he said they used to bite their batteries and crush the centre a bit to squeeze a few more hours out of their radios.
