I am selling a beautiful limited TnC 'Lava Lamp'. This is a metallic copper/orange and black custom light. The tube and head are one solid piece. The tube takes 1x8650, or 2xCR123s running the MJ SDC1000 and TW0J. The SDC1000 runs 6v max. There is splash anodizing inside and out and even on the bezel (which is interesting with the light on). This splash cost almost $35 per light more than regular HA. The light uses a McR-27 reflector and a kroll switch with an anti-roll bezel. Below is a picture of 2 sides of the light that sold but there are more light bodies to choose from, such as the two pictures of a second light at the bottom of this post. $225 Shipped conus. International is extra.

The first "I'll take it" posted here or on TnC forums gets the light.

The stars are mounted on a large heat sink that threads into the head/body. I am custom buiding these and have TWOJ, UW0J, UX1J, and WW0S stars along with DB1000s, NG1000s, and three varieties of flupics (along with the MJ SDC1000). Each light is unique. There will be more info on TnC forums. Email notification isn't working for me here on CPF so responses may be faster on the TnC site. Lava Lamps are also available on the TnC Online Store.

Hi Doug,

I can build you another one with the same electronics, or from the list of custom builds on the first post. Below is a pic of the other side of the light that hasn't been built, which was pictured in my first post in pieces. If you want I can post/email the other bodies I have available.

I must say this light really impressed me. Great throw, great look and I really like the "crenulations" on the interior bezel. They only show up as little bumps in the very perimeter of the spill but they do reflect just enough light when looking at the front to appear as little supplemental leds. Great job again Chris and Eric!

Re: TnC Lava Lamps; festive for Halloween!!!

Hi Mac,

I'm happy you are pleased with the Lava Lamp.

I can't get the Shoppe's bezels to fit Alephs A1s properly and the same goes for the Lava lamp. As you can see, it engages but I think it will take sanding the threads to get it to screw down. Don's 27mm bezel works perfectly. The TnC bezels work but need a thicker o-ring to seat against the lens. I'm including a few pics of different bezels on the light. I don't have any spares left from Don's bezels, but I do have some of the others. If there is interest I'll list them in this thread. Also shown is a bezel key that I will list as well.

Thanks

Congrats! The Lava Lamps are great, and surprisingly small. Love that orange/black splash that TnC used to have done.

I keep hoping Malkoff's use of the Kroll will lead to a new and improved switch for these older hosts. (No dice, yet.)
