Still want one but would have prefered the 3.6volt option.
That's OK with me Walter. Give 'ole Dad 0 - that seems fitting...Originally Posted by arewethereyetdad

Yeah that's a good question
I've missed that detail....
Newbie here. Mobile 1 You don't happen to have partnered up with R.A. Industries by any chance? If so, cool, their facilities are top notch!
Count me in for one, missed the last V2 offering, don't want to miss this one especially with the carbon fiber insert. Top Notch product........

Some design questions we'd like to run by you....
We have been playing around with different color combinations... and there is one that I found particularly interesting which I would like to share with you guys... here are some renderings.. what do you guys think.... would you prefer this black silver look compared to the all darkgrey/silver look of the previous renderings. I personally think the black silver would look awesome.
Just a warning... this is just a preliminary idea... if you guys like the idea... we'll see how feasible it is to make it possible... so don't get your hopes up yet.... I just want to test the waters... Lots of issues that could make this impossible very very fast...
Than regarding your questions
In the cad drawing- is it missing the design (screws) to get the back off to put the battery in? If not, how will replacing the battery be accomplished? Will the switch still slightly crush the battery?
To replace the battery, simply unscrew the knob. The brightness controll is still similar to the V2... you turn the knob which pushes the battery forward and controlls the brightness. The pressure on the battery will also be less because we don't need the silicone seals anymore for water sealing... which required more pressure. Also the entire setup will be very solid... which should improve overall controll.
Regarding the battery issue, couldn't protected R123's with over-discharge protection be used/required?
Well yes but you still have the problem that with this light you can run them to less than 2.5V... take a low brightness level and the battery will drain to very unhealthy voltages, even with protected over discharge protection (current based). Fact is most people prefer primary lithiums as we found out with the V2. Also using protected 3V batteries provides a good rechareable option.
How will signup be handled / when?
We don't know yet... most likely we'll send out an email to everyone who signed up for our "to be informed" list on our website gatlight.com. Than deliver them in the order of sign up. We'll inform you what order number you have.. you can than devide it by our monthly capacity to get your V3 ETA.
You can most likely still use 3.6V batteries... with the disadvantage that you are limited in the lower brightness levels... this light will be 3V.... sorry but its what the majority prefers.
Well, it appears that the "Gentlemen, start your engines" phrase for the beginning of the race won't be needed here! Wow Walter, some rather instant interest I would have to say!!
Yes, if at all possible, please do proceed with the investigation of the Black and Silver combination, it really is a beautiful approach!!
I'm not going to even TRY to resist this one. (BTW, a black/silver version would be spectacular if it can be done.)
Count me in for one.
Walter, now THAT is cool! It would look so awesome right next to the V2 with the black screws... I hope this look turns out to be possible, if it doesn't for some reason is there any chance I could buy that Proto?Originally Posted by mobile1
I would also be interested in the silver/black version. #13 please.
The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!!
I like the silver look. However I am fine with any color as long as it produces light (possibly with low none blinking levels that don't get brighter on their own?) and is dependable.
Awesome design with unscrewing the knob to change the battery.
If I am hearing you correctly, I have to go to your website and sign up by email? I never signed up since I got a V2.
I think this has been asked but I couldn't find the answer: will these be offered continually or only be a limited run?
Looking forward to this light.
Hey. It looks like I need to get my first Gatlight. Count me in!
As for tritium, what is the limiting factor if the tritiim was added to the CF tube?
Please pick me to send the first light to
Hmm #007 would be nice to go along with my Gatlight V1 #007....but then again I may end up trying to sell that one in order to get this one lol...very interested.
Then again if this will be the photo contest prize, I might have one last idea for a photo series that hopefully would win..details soon.

count me for one,
black/silver looks very fine.
Will the black sections still be Ti?
Please put me in the list for the Gatlight V3 !!!
The Titan/Black rendering looks great! I´d definitly prefer the V3 with a different look.Originally Posted by mobile1

My Collection.... just click on me if interested (not addicted anymore version V2.0 reduced from 77 lights)
Black/silver is nice but I prefer the color of bare titanium. Thanks.
I defenitely vote for the natural titanium color. Titanium is looking just great when bare, plus a scratch can easily be sanded down, which is not possible when it's surface is colored (anodization?).
I love the look of the black/silver combination. I have a nickel and black-lacquer saxophone on order - the colours are incredibly striking.
