Bay Area get together for television program

I just talked to them yesterday. There are in the closing phase of editing the video. Once they finish it will then go to National Geographic for the final editing & narration.

Estimated air time is still @ the end of April.

Hey thanks Jonathan for the update. I was waiting to hear back from him too. Do you know if Jim got his flashlights back?

Yeah, Jim got them back, but unfortunately they were not in the same condition as when they were loaned out.

Couple hours of tinkering should fix them all up.

KaBump! I dumped TV in general and Dish ~3 months ago. I'm really hoping to buy a tape/DVD of this if/when it happens.

This does gives me an idea. Maybe I can find a public place with a big screen. Something between a sports bar and a chuck-e-cheese.

I am not sure I can handle a public viewing party if they make you look dumb on camera. Since we have not had a chance to screen it for personally looking or sounding stupid on camera.

If we can get a pre screening, and no one looks too bad, I would be happy to have a public showing and gathering!

I can't think of too much better then drinks good friends and talking about flashlights.

I don't know I can handle public ridicule un prepared...

Don't worry about looking stupid. I've seen shows where grown men launch model rockets, and no one looked foolish. Even the parts where they launched an out-house a few hundred feet into the air was portrayed as a tour-deforce (sp???) rather than a folly. The rocket shows culminated with 20 foot long models that went tens of miles high.

I imagine the Tank light will be the equivilent of the 20 foot rocket. The USL will be the brute force display and the rest will show what can be done with a little reserach, skill or ingenuity.

I can't wait to see it. Of course, I missed the taping, so I'm immune to the possible downside!

I have a big TV but kind of a small living room. If we keep the numbers down I could probably host a little get together. I think I could seat about 5 comfortably and about 10 if people don't mind sitting on the floor (bring your own pillow )

If interest is low we may take you up on your offer. However, I have a feeling the numbers will excede your living room capacity.

Just put the TV near the front window and point it outside. We can all bring camp chairs and sit on the front lawn.

Yes we should be getting close. I just checked the NGC schedule and it only goes as far as May 8th at the moment. Hopefully we'll have an airdate soon.

I called the production company today and I'm told the air date is still sometime late May (this month), but they don't know which day yet. I'm on a list to be notified when this information becomes available. It sounds like we don't have to wait much longer.

The NGC website has just added updates for the May schedule through the 29th. I looked through all of the new listings but I didn't see anything that looked like it. Is the program a part of a regular series or is it an independent show?
