I've had a 3D mag on basement duty for years and years. It was stock and so not spectatular in any way, output or runtime. I tried a NiteIze upgrade a while back but it was very disappointing - so much so that I put the original lamp back in.
I just put a Genuine Mag upgrade in it and I am pretty impressed. At a certain focus, the beam has a near perfect shape - a tight spot and a wide spill - if that's what you like. The color is VERY white.
I've got to say, this is a very nice beam. It's not all that impressive considering that it's much like the beam on any of the *much smaller* high-quality 3Watt LED lights out there.
Does anyone have a run-time plot for this unit on 3D Alkalines?
Is this drop-in regulated?
I used the search function but I got a lot of error messages and when it worked I didn't find what I hoped for.
