    Default (CLOSED) 1450L M*g 2-1/4D 8x14670

    C L O S E D

    Hi folks,
Here is what you have been waiting for. Hard anodized 2-1/4D M*g similar to 4x14670 but designed for 8x14670 lithium ion batteries for 14.8 volt operation. (2 parallel/4 series) Shorter than 3D M*g but brighter than M*g85.
    Body is M*g 3D shortened to 2-1/4D and bored out in 4 slots to accept 4 li-ion 14670 accross in 2 stack. 2parallel/4 series (14.8 volt, 2.2Ah)
Outside body is cross machined for great look and sure grip. Head is also reshaped to conical form for unique look and very fine finned for better heat dissipation. Completly deanodized, polished and reanodized in gun metal gray type III, natural type III and red type III color.
Battery holder designed to accept 4x2 li-ion 14670 batteries sold here which are slightly gapped to avoid shortage in case battery cover is torn. It has shorter extended charging jack to recharge batteries without removing tail cap. You can also recharge the pack out of flashlight or simply remove batteries to recharge individualy. This battery holder has very low resistance and capable of high drain bulbs up to 3.8A with single click. Center pin of charging jack is positive and I will include a male charging jack too.
I highly recommend using this charger for quick, safe and easy recharge system without removing tail cap.
Lithium ion batteries have very low self discharge and don't need to top off very often.
    Bulb option:
1- Custom made CL 43 watt (14.8 volt, 2.9A, 10 Hrs life) which produces over 1450 bulb lumens. (Made exclusively for Fivemega)
    2- WA1131 with over 830 bulb lumens.

Moders also can use it as multi LED host for long run time.
This flashlight comes with stock reflector, lens and stock bulb. It is highly recommended to use aluminum reflector and boro lens when using high power bulbs.

Let me be the first to saw "wow." This is going to be one impressive light! That's a lotta lumens in a very small size.

Any idea on an approximate runtime for this setup, FM?

I have a feeling I'm going to need one of these; the worst part is that I don't even yet have batteries for the *last* two FM creations I bought (1D M*g 11 and OneHour ROP)!

This is a sickness, folks. Get help while you still can!

Battery pack is 2200mAh and current draw is 2900mA
Run time will be about 40 to 45 minutes.

Varooj, does this bulb look like a typical WA bulb? I'm wondering about color, shape, artifacts, large filament.

Please reserve red #2 for me, while I hear those couple details.

I would be in on this one but with spending almost $300 on Litho's mod in conjunction with FM and it still not working I am not able to venture into this area right now.

    They do look nice though

"It is impossible to make a small fillament reliable bulb with 10 hours life which means pretty hot and high color temperature."
This is what Carley's engineer said.
Yes, this is G4 bi pin halogen with white and bright beam.
Beam shape is oval with some artifact using SMO reflector.

OK, and how does it look with the 2" Deep or upcoming 3" which I will likely use with it. I'm also trying to decide how many bulbs to get--this is not a standard stock bulb then?

ROFL....I love how every one of FM's GB's starts with: "OK Folks this is what you all have been waiting for...." What ticks me off is no matter how many other ones I have gotten, this newest one does in fact seem like what I have been waiting for.

OK, I'm just quibbling about the beam pattern/artifacts...because I know either the 2" Deep or new 3" will fix it. Man, imagine this with a 3"....OMG. Damn it...back to AW again for more batteries! LOL! (whew...I was finally able to combine the previous AW order with this one)

    #2 Red - 2-1/4D M*g with battery holder $135
    6 x Bi pin 14.8V bulb @ $10 each = $60
    Shipping $10
    ---------------------
    Total sent $205

    LuxLuthor,
The only way to remove artifact is textured reflector or frosting lower area of bulb envelope.
    Excellent throw with FM3H

    PGP,
Run time with WA1131 will be about 50 to 55 minutes.

Is the "natural gray" the lighter shade of the two gray's?

It will be interesting to see these, and compare to other maglites....I'll post about it ASAP. So far, my 1185, & 1D Mag66 & 1D Mag11 are all in a very close grouping of lumen output.

I don't think you can draw more than 2.5A from each cell (total of 5A) before protection circuit kicks in.
I think best choice would be regulated 64610 (not direct drive)
