My solution to this whole "night trip to the temple of the porcelain god" dilemma is a little extreme, but it works. I just got one of those new "QuipLites" that BrightGuy and Tactical WareHouse sells, and I simple keep it clipped on to my underpants' elastic waist band pointing forward, sort of like landing lights on an incomming jet about to land on an airstrip. Never missed my mark yet, and is quite an elegant solution to the problem. Here is the light that I am talking about:


Notice I didn't mention whether they are "boxers" or "briefs". Some things are private, you know

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The Sharper Image used to sell this thing that went on your toliet lid to indicate whether the seat was up or down. A green glow would come from the bowl if the seat was down, and a red bullseye would show up in the toliet if the seat was up. Some kind of IR sensor would keep the LEDs off until you approached the can, then the thing would come on.

24 ounces-- fire for effect! The house cleaner will get the collateral damage.

I like the one that puts a target in the bowl, it turns on when the seat is lifted.
