<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I am taking Feb 14th off from work. I am taking my honey to MGM Studios (the one park in Orlando that she has not been to). I already have a hotel for the 14th and 15th.

BTW: You can get a hotel for around $30.00 in Kissimmee (plus around 15% tax). These are the mom-n-pop type hotels, which don't usually have web sites. Here is a partial list of hotels on 192 (near Disney property): Buena Vista Motel, Cedar Lakeside Inn, Traveler's Inn, Thriftlodge, Magic Castle, Gator Motel, Knight's Inn, Enterprise, Ambasador Motel, Crown Motel, Chateau Motel, Ritz Express, Super-8, Motel-6, Sunrise Motel.

Except for the chains, they are all around $25-$30 for one person. Extra person charges vary. I absolutely cannot verify the quality of any of these (don't get mad at me if you stay at one and it is a dive). I just wrote down names as I was driving down 192. You will also need a car if you stay here, as the convention is a few miles away.

For those who do not know, International Drive is the "upscale tourist area," and filled with nice food and hotels. I would expect around $60-$80 at a minimum there per night. The convention center is also on this road. If you stay on International Drive, you can easily walk to get food. The last time I stayed on International, my GPS told me that there were 25 restaurants within 1 mile. A drive down International can also be quite entertaining. There is even a Bass Pro Shop superstore at the north end of the drive.

192 is a cheaper area with a lot of $30 motels, a variety of food, and more "3 shirts for $10" tacky tourist stores than you can shake a stick at. A drive down this road is to be avoided unless you are staying here.

If anybody is not renting a car, I can probably take a couple of people with me to the party after the show. I guess that we can all meet at Peter G's booth. Hey Peter: how about having a "ride" sheet in your booth so we can get an idea of who has/needs a ride?

Great idea Harrkev. What do you think Jeff? You may already have something in place for this...

Btw, Yes, it is during Valentines. Not a problem for Merri and I though. We are going to Universal Studios and also Kennedy Space Center. The evening of Feb 14th we will go out for a nice dinner. She has no problems with the planned events.

Working on something to show at the show. See you there.

Hmmm...tapping foot impaitently here, still waiting to receive the tickets from the show folks. Might have to start making calls to them if the mailbox is bare tomorrow.

Harrkev and Mrs. Harrkev
Starlight (Harry Siemen)

Food for thought & hope I'm not stepping on any toes here...will there be any type of "door prizes" along the line of kicking in a couple bucks a head to help defray the GT food/expenses and possibly getting a prize?

Regards,

Don't panic about not receiving your credentials early. I forgot mine one year and lost it another year. As long as you are pre-registered you can get a new credential at the show in about a minute. Shot Show Tip: With over 1400 exhibitors displaying at the show you are likely to pick up several hundred brochures, business cards and even a few samples of gun cleaners, lubricants and nylon attachment devices. Fear not, many exhibitors hand out large bags just for this purpose some even hand out real nice cloth bags. UPS, RPS etc will be right at the show to supply you briefcase size shipping boxes and services right from the show.

#2 Fred, thanks for the insight. Still "no joy" with the post office today, I'll hold off calling for now.

#3 Jeff, hmmm &lt;smile&gt; no cross exam here. It certainly sounds like the CPF "elves" have been busy behind the scenes. &gt;as often the case&lt;.

The food and drink is covered by Arc Flashlight! Jeff is providing the digs and the rest of us just need to show up hungry.

Will we need to use the secret knock & CPF handshake to get in &gt;after whispering our CPF # and name through the slightly opened door&lt;?

Presuming that none would dare show up without at least one flashlight.

Jeff, it appears you are also using mapsource. The coordinates you provided above (N26.40640 W81.46946), these are for the get together location?

This will be satuday night. What time exactly? 5,6 or 7pm?

Tis true, you need a press pass to take a camera on to the floor, which costs a lot more $. Hopefully someone on the "inside" can take a couple of pics.

You lucky ones going to Shotshow, the rest of us want details!

I don't care who you have to sleep with, or who you have to get drunk, we want lots of inside info!

I am esp interested in what new will be coming out from streamlight, Princeton Tec, CMG, ARC (of course!) and Inova.

OK, I realise that is kind of a dumb statement, they are all flashlight companies!

For those that have FRS, bring them if you got them.

I have made an "exectutive decisiion" to use channel 9, sub channel 24 for the duration of the show. This could be a good way for ride sharing etc.

I know that Peter is at the Comfort Suites, I will be at the Hilton Vacation Club. I'm thinking of starting a "cell phone" list for those attending; be easier than trying to catch people in their hotel rooms etc. Peters booth will be our "base of operation".

The party will be after the show Saturday, probably around 6 or so... haven't nailed down the logistics of getting the food and drink pickup/delivered or trnasported, but have all day Wednesday, to work on these last details.

Anywone with suggestions, they will be welcomed

Will the sub channels work between different brands or models of FRS radios? I'll bring mine.
