I reinstalled Windows XP and everything works OK but when I start my computer I get a screen that says "Please select operating system to start". Then it lists Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition twice. The top one works and if I try the bottom one it says it's not a valid file or something along that line. When I reinstalled windows I did a full install and it formatted my hard drive so I'm not sure why both are listed. Does anyone know how to get rid of this message?

1) Go into Control Panel, select Performance & Maintenance, then System.
2) Select the Advanced tab, then choose Startup Options.
3) You will see the startup menu entries. Delete the one that does not work and you should be good to go.

PM me if you need more help.

Right click on my computer, when the windows pops up select the advanced tab. Once there click on the setting tab for startup and recovery. Here you can change the setting for the operating system selection.

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem but I don't see that entry in my control panel.

Thanks, I figured it out.
