Surefire G2

I finally got my Surefire G2 in my hands and was able to use it for awhile last night. Awesome light, everything is the usual praises people give to Surefire, except though my beam seems to be a bit of an egg shape than the perfect round beam some people talk about, but I don't mind. I compared it to my Maglite 4D with a HPR50 bulb and even there, the reach on the Surefire can surpass it. Total close up illumination isn't bad with the G2 either, the Maglite peforms better obviously due to the adjustable beam, but overall, the G2 is definately an awesome flashlight.

Yes, the newer P60 lamps have the oval or egg shaped beam. I much prefer the older style round beams. On a good note the P61 HOLA (hi output lamp assembly) does have a nice round beam.

I said that too... P61 are great lamps!
