What is the "mah" of Duracell and Panasonic CR123A primary cells?

If I remember correctly, most CR123 primaries are 1300 mah. I've got some Sanyos now that are 1400.

Duracell lists 1300 mah, as has been mentioned above, but remember that the "deliverable" capacity of a cell will depend on the discharge rate. High discharge rates such as 1.5 C or higher will not deliver the batteries full capacity as usable. The battery will heat itself up with its own current because the internal resistance will go up.
Incidentally, Duracell 123's were found to hold their voltage through the run much better than the others on SilverFox's recent testing at 2.5 A extreme high current tests.
For comprehensive info on duracell 123's I suggest this link

hope it helps.

Panasonics are rated at 1550mah.

Most premium (Duracell, Energizer, Sanyo etc) are 1400+. Most Chinese CR123A are 1300mah.

LED61 makes an important point re: discharge rates as different mfrs rate them at different discharge rates.

I'm not sure, but rapid flash I imagine is pulse current. Duracells will do very good with pulse current as they can withstand up to 5 amp pulses. Pulse current will deliver all or more than the rated capacity of a cell on some manufacturers.

panasonic sells the cells as new rapid flash technology - whatever that means.
my question is: what colour are the cells with 1600mAh?
gold or black?

I use Surefire CR123As in my Surefire 6Ps and G2s. Does this ^ mean that two CR123s (2600 mAh & 2800 mAh) will have longer run times than one Keeppower 16650 2500 mAh?

No sir. You add voltage (2 CR123's @ 3 volts each = 6 volts). Capacity in mAh is the same even when you run 2 or more batteries. Two CR123's will be 6 volts, @1300 mAh. The Keepower will be 4.2 volts at max charge with 2500 mAh. 2500 > 1300. The Keepower will run longer.

Here's a good resource:
