My Raw on a trip to the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison.
It was also played with at the Annual UW Madison Band Concert.
At the time, according to Lummi Map Frapper, it was the only Orb Raw in the state of Wisconsin.

Together with my RAW NS, were we given a Quest!

The quest for the Holy Grail

We started in Poland. But after crossing the Chech border we got
mocked by Chech Kniggits with French accent !

Then, our trek lead us to Austria, were we have met:
the Black Knight who Always Triumphs

    Have at You !!!!

In the German dark Forest of Ewing,

we battled the Knigths who say Ni !!

When we were finished with the Shrubbery and cutting down the mightiest
    of trees with a herring...

We found a cave that was guarded by a creature...so foul, so cruel... that
no man yet has fought with it and lived. Bones of full 50 men lie strewn
about its lair. ...for death awaited us with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

    The Cave of Caerbannog!

But we, were able to escape from it's clutches.

Yet Tim, Tim the Enchanter, has fallen.

But in the end, we found the Holy Grail, and......

    The End

Nyctophiliac - Nice pics, I must take time out to have a another visit there. Last time I went it had only been open for around a year, I think it's changed a bit since.

Hello Mr Orb - What's the deadline for the next prize ?

Last day today before the June Draw.

    p73rs05-31-2007 10:48 AMRe: Worldwide Raw's

We went to Half Moon Bay, California few weeks ago. These are some photos from that trip.

Half Moon Bay is located at about 30 miles southwest of San Francisco on the west coast of USA.

It is at the sandy part of the bay at the beach.

It was a nice sunny day.

It is at the rocky part of the bay. Actually, this was a day before we went to the sandy part. It was cloudy with the typical marine layer of low clouds.

It is at the same area. For some reason, I like this photo very much.

This was taken later in that evening. My NS is showing off its power. It is only at the low output.

    It was a fun trip.

    Thanks.

I took another trip to the Grand Canyon last weekend and took some more pictures of my Orb with the canyon in the background. I'll post them when I have time.

When will Wee be avaliable ?

    Nyctophiliac07-16-2007 05:10 AMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Whatever happened to the globetrotting ORBs??

All I have is rather closer to home...

In a leafy suburb of London,
    Not far from the M25,
    Two Icons of Red Religion,
Battle it out to see who stays alive...

AKA - The Battle for Chorleywood - ORB stays on top.

OK - I know it's not really a big topographical feature of World class repute, but I really don't get out as much as I used to...and I'm concerned that this thread is getting forgotten. Consider this a bump!

    Be lucky...

    Nyctophiliac07-21-2007 01:51 PMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Talking of getting out more - down in Hampshire, Lasham airstrip to be precise, there can't be many ORB RAW torches that have seen the nose of a Lockheed F-104G Starfighter in the flesh!

    orb07-24-2007 04:26 AMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Nyctophiliac for Bumping the thread & Adding two more great photo contributions.
You have the only two entries this time for the September draw.

    Not for long, I'll bet!

With the Summer Hols and traditional globetrotting, you should have a plethora of World Wide Wonders to behold by the end of August. I'll do some more but I'm only going to West Sussex this year! Isle of Wight may be a possibility - Alum Bay, Red orb in Red Sand??? Who knows...

    Be lucky...

    Nyctophiliac08-19-2007 01:39 PMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Well, this is me back from my hols to look at all the wierd and wonderful places peeps take their Orbs...

    ...tolling bell...tumbleweed...dry desert wind........

Well, and now for my globetrotting ORB RAW!!! Majorca? Bali? Mali? Montevideo?

Nope, we went to Hampshire and Sussex. It was lovely.

First off, Chichester, birthplace of Aristotle and home to the Sequoia forests.

Then on and up to Brackelsham bay at night, for an infestation of Frogs, Brrrr...

My wife was inside hiding. The Frog didn't seem to mind the Red Lux III.

With so much travelling, not to mention hostile wildlife, I needed refreshment and indulged in some local cider, first white...

    And then red!!

My sincerest apologies to Rob for shamelessly ripping off his fantastic beer piccie!!! But if an ORB can do it, why not an ORB RAW???

Next time on ORB RAW worldtrotting...SOUTHSEA CASTLE!!!!

...dramatic music...rumble of cannon fire (Photon 'natch)...fades to black...

    Be lucky...

    Nyctophiliac08-25-2007 12:13 PMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Photons, we're gonna need lots of photons...

This week, Southsea. Home of people who live there...a lot!

    (...Shovels are available on request...)

Built by Henery the Eighth-he-is in olden times of yore, to keep the Saxon invaders, and men called Norman, from stealing the Royal garter and undermining the Kingdom by letting their socks down and infecting our fine British cuisine with cheese, wine, and other thinking men's topics...and Topics.

Small chidren trained for over fifty years before perfecting the deadliest weapon of all...the photon cannon. Here is an early example.

    And another in close up.

Other examples of this formidable weapon are to be found within the castle's keep...where they're kept...errr...

    ...and...

But the most powerful of all, utilized an primordial form of FRESNEL lens to focus the red heat beam into the earliest form of laser technology known to man.

Who'd - a - thought - it?? Not only six wives and his own personalized religion, but an early torchaholic too.

We say farewell king Henery vee-eye-eye-eye...until our paths cross again.

    Be lucky...

    Cut down on your carbs....

    orb09-04-2007 03:18 AMRe: Worldwide Raw's

Congratulations Nyctophiliac. Despite fierce competition You win A Wee Ti.
again for keeping this thread alive
Please email me with your address.

I'll have a think about what I can offer as a incentive for the 4th prize draw around December.

    Nyctophiliac09-04-2007 03:46 AMRe: Worldwide Raw's

    Wow!

    Hi Rob and thanks!

You run a fantastic competition, and long may it continue. I have had such fun trying to take good, interesting pictures of your torches over the past few months. And now to win one of your fantastic Wee Ti torches is just the icing on the cake.

I've emailed details and look forward to your getting in touch in the near future.

Can't wait until your next Competition!

    Cheers,

    Wee-'ll meet again...in December!

    Sssssh!

(Whispers) Wee Ti arrived today...in its little wee box...haven't woke it up yet because it's not dark outside. I don't want to frighten the little critter...

A million thanks, Rob. This is another masterpeice of design and manufacture from your fertile imagination. And thanks again for your photo competitions, which have brightened up my CPF pleasure immeasurably - well at least by 25 lumens!!! I'm already onto some new ones for your next Draw ( At this stage, I'm not sure I can balance a pint of cider on the wee - I may have to go for spirits and shot glasses!!)

I'm thinking of having a wee implanted under the skin on my left hip for ultimate EDC (Think Jason Bourne). It's always there when you need it - kind of thing.

Just going to have a lie down...

I landed back in the UK this morning after being away on vacation for the past two weeks.
I took the Raw on tour with me so decided to take a few pic's on my travels.

I'm not sure if the comp is still active but i thought id share them anyway

i took my new camera so not 100% used to it yet, some pics aren't perfect but you get the drift.

this is a fountain in a hotel just outside london, I thought it looked like a Raw LOL

As part of the cruise we stopped off in Jamaica so look this as it was the only landmark that had Jamaica writen on it as proof of location

    http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/albu...oto=1637490471
this was taken just off the coast of the Grand Cayman , stunning location and a stunning sunset from the top deck of the ship

At one of the bars on the ship they had this solid glass ball , i thought it looked like a globe and as this is "world wide Raws" i thought it looked cool and worth a shot

this was taken from the hotel walk way where i stayed on Turks and Caicos,

same walk way but this time with a plant LOL

just playing with Macro mode when i took this but i think its a keeper

    All the best guys
    Steve

PS if anyone can tell me how to spin the image of the sunset and get it to stick it would be a great help
