I realize this is a basic question but now that I'm getting into owning lights that cost 100$ (canadian) I would hate to ruin them.

Should I be worried about having my lights full ?

With batteries?

thanks for any thoughts,

M

There's a similar thread going on right now. Executive summary is :

- primarily worry with alkalines & carbon zinc batteries, not so much with lithiums

- alkalines at normal temperatures much less likely to leak than at extreme temperatures, eg stored in the car

- if you aren't gonna use the flashlight for a while take the batteries out anyways, why tempt fate ?

Personally I leave batteries in all flashlights I have. All NiMH except 2, a cheap giveaway 2AAA flashlight and a 2D MAG-LED. I don't care if batteries leak in those, for the MAG-LED, there are warranties from Maglite and from Rayovac if leak happens! :p And I guess NiMH will probably never leak...
