When day turns to night, let there be light!
fenix l1d, l2d, p2d Q5, p3d, coast digitac 3.2 watt rechargeable, streamlight strion, inova x1 uv, mini mag led 3AA, mini mag 3AAA, 1 mag 3d w/ led drop in, 1 mag 3d regular,
Always have 1 or 2 surefire spares carriers full of batteries and extra bulbs in my backpack that I take with me everywhere. Thats like carrying a gun with only one magazine, or carrying a single comdom. Have back up for your back up if possible!

Comdom, now that's one word I never thought I read in a place full of flashoholics. ROFFLES.

WEIRD......Considering the general shape of most flashlights.......then again, I've gotta dirty mind.Originally Posted by RdlyLite

Mmmmkay before this thread gets locked...
back on topic.
I generally carry a couple spare NiMh AAs and a couple CR123's for my lights in my backpack. If I'm heading out somewhere away from home I pack a charger and more batteries in the luggage. For car camping, driving trips where I might be out and away from AC outlest for more than a couple days I carry a solar cell for getting (at a minimum) NiMh AA's and my cellphone up and running.
What's worse than having no lights when you need them? Having a lot of dead lights and no batteries!
Neutral white, it's the new black.

Each different kind of spare has its own way of getting "recycled"
Wether it be a Home Depot for the batteries, Scrap metal recyclers for the brass shells, or a little soap and water for......ummm well.....
YES!!! INDEED!!! ALWAYS CARRY SPARE FLASHLIGHT BATTERIES WITH YOU!!!

i do in my pack, a SC3 full of 123's, and my pack goes everywhere with me.
I have a P1D-CE, and a modified plastic contact-lens case containing a spare 123 cell. I figured that if the case can keep lens fluid in, it can keep moisture out.
There's a couple in my photo case, both cars, laptop case but none on my person except the edc
I have carried my Falacata with me everyday since i bought it. Spare 123's are in my locker at work and i change out the batts on a regular basis regardless of actual use. I keep all of those at home.
I don't generally carry a spare, but I keep one in my jacket pocket and four in my backpack.
Hey dalekcommander, welcome to CPF! Since you're close you may want to join us this Saturday. Just click the link in my sig line for details.
Surefire SC1 in my coat pocket, only a slight bulge!![]()
.sig? I don't need no steenkin' .sig!
depending on what I'm out and about doing, I will sometimes grab my make-shift spare-cell carrier... which is nothing more than a hard-shell glasses case... it very nicely accommodates my 3 spare 17670s, 2 spare 17500s, 1 spare 18650, and up to 4 CR123s or 4 AA NIMH cells....
I always carry spare AA's for my Fenixes
There's no truth in the news and no news in the truth
I keep spare cells in the pockets of my rucksack, briefcase, backpack, and fannypack. One or more of those items is usually with me when I'm out and about.Originally Posted by RdlyLite
Trouser pockets - almost never. Jacket pockets - rarely, but on occasion.
.
I keep a couple spares in my backpack.
Not usually, but there are spares (in other lights) nearby in the car. Now if I was heading out for a night hike it would be different.

Of Course!
I'm partial to SF Xenons. And each has its own fully stocked spares carrier which goes everywhere its light goes. My backpack is currently sporting a 6P w/SC1, Glotoob w/A23 in holster, 2 lithium AAAs for the Arc AAA-P in my pocket, and a Tikka (no spares for this one).
I always carry 1 or 2 spare 123A's in a sheath with my EDC U60. I found a Gerber sheath that fits my HDS very well and leaves room for 2 spare batteries at the bottom. It's a very nice setup and it goes with me whenever I go out.
Always have spares on me. Usually three CR123As, but always at least one for either the HDS or PD I'm carrying at all times.
One is carried in a Walgreen's AL nitro carrier and two are sealed together in 6 mil poly.

Ya...i have a problem!!
i have 3x123a's and one RCR123a in a SF case. Also, I have 4 AAA's for my Arc in a case. Theya ll live in my backpack which is almost always near me.
SICKNESS!!! LOL
I "creatively acquired" an extra double-mag pouch for my duty belt - 1 side carries my 2 knives and a paint-can-pry-and-bottle-opener, and the other side carries my spare cells, which are wrapped in a plastic bag to keep them stacked and keep them from shorting out.
I try to carry 2 lights on my duty belt all the time (unless loaned out to the "unenlightened") and at least one charger with DC cord or inverter in my duty bag.
If REALLY desperate, or wanting to exercise its battery stick (always be kind to weaker lights - never know when you NEED them!), I grab the Polystinger kept in the patrol vehicle.
Uh - yeah that thing DaFABRICATA mentioned - just gave me a great idea for a flashlight pocket protector. No more dings from keys and pocket change. Of course pulling out your light and unrolling it's protector might get some weired looks![]()

Yes, as a matter of fact, I DO carry a spare battery with my E1e. I have 2 E1e's in 2 different jackets, and there are spare batteries with both lights. I wish the leather holster I have for my E1e, had a place for a spare battery.
