I've posted about my Nuwai X-3 before here (about performance with alkalines actually). Anyway there is actually another issue with it that's been there ever since I've had it. It actually came with a faulty emitter - it's cracked/scratched deeply in 2 places. I was able to take a good picture of the worst one:
There is no way I can return this light under warranty to get it repaired since it was a gift, otherwise I'd have done that. So the only option is to replace the emitter. The emitter does work well, the beam is a little odd though (I'll have to make a beamshot to show, I guess
). I either want to replace it with another Lux III or possibly a cree if it can be done.
Can anyone here be so kind as to tell me how I could go about removing the electronics from the head and replace the emitter? I'd be very greatful ^_^ Thank you.
