I have a ARC LS that is my EDC. I currently use it with the 2 AA pack with alkaline batteries. Cost aside, if I wanted the most light for the longest time, which batteries should I use?
The 2AA seems pretty bright, but what would you guys say about the 123? Comparable run times/brightness? Any input appreciated. Thanks!

There has been much testing on bright/longest for the Arc-LS. The #1 for bright is the 2AA Lithium. Not to bad on long also.

Please take a look at this graph:

...run with the prototype, but pretty valid for recent production lights as far as I can tell (still don`t have a "first" LS to test, though I was promised one ages ago), to help you make your choices.

Ignore the 2AA Duracell alkaline results, I think I had a couple duff cells that gave distorted results, but didn`t/don`t have the time or money to run more of them with new sets. Batteries are expensive here.

The rest of it is accurate.
