does anyone rememebr 3R12 ?

I remember that I has some flashlight when I was a kid running on 3R12. I haven't seen those in at least 20 years now, perhaps even more. A quick searched fond some images:

I have an old Petzl Zoom. It uses the 3R12 or 3xAA with an adapter. Mine is about 10 years old. I see those batteries at camping and outfitter stores every once in a while.

does anyone rememebr 3R12 ?
