any 4,5/6 volts bulb?

I'd like to mod my mag 3D but without using a battery older....
for example I was thinking about some possibilities:

3D cell-----------4,5V
4C cell-----------6,0V
3D nimh----------3,6V
4C nimh----------4,8V
5cell MC battery pack--6,0V

I can choose some battery options but what about the bulb?
which I can use for the best output?

Use the MC 6v battery pack and a WA1160 in a KIU high temp socket for a nice Mag60.

Youre looking at 20W here though, so you'll also want an aluminium reflector and a glass lens.


For a quick 'n' dirty mod - Just put in 4 NiMh cells and drive the standard 3D lamp (You'll need to mod the tailcap spring)

You could also use the MC pack with standard mag lamps ....Others might have more experience in this matter, but I recon a 5 cell lamp will be fine. You may even get away with overdriving a 4 cell lamp. You wont need the KIU socket or the replacement reflector for this mod.
