Hi everyone,

Just a query about M*glites.

I have a 3D from the early 90's as well as one from 06, and I have noticed that the newer version is much lighter and its battery tube is smaller in diameter.

Just wondering when these changes came out and what the reason for them was (if anyone knows!)

Cheers,

Nick

Mostly Manufacturing costs. The older D, you have to unscrew a ring from the top side and take the switch out from the top. The newer ones (with a D at the begining of the SN), after taking the switch cover and loosening the allen screw in the middle of the switch, you just push the switch out through the battery end.

Sweet, thanks for that. I knew it would have to be something to do with costs!

If only they teamed up with someone from here to make some good lights!

Cheers,

Nick
