It stopped working after I modded it with a ssc seoul emitter. It worked for a while but now I have the driver board out and nothing lights up. Damnit this was my favorite EDC ever. What the heck am I going to do now?
You could still use any other driver available out there...
Which is your favorite ? GDxxx ? Piglet maybe ?
Piglet? Seriously?
I'll be driving this with RCR123's primarilly and am looking for uber brightness and throw.. not runtime. I considered direct drive modding this light but I don't have protected cells and I prefer a flatter discharge curve on primaries anyway. Would the GD1000 be too much? (I assume that 1000 means driven at 1amp) I know nothing. BTW did I mention that I'm poor?

Are'nt we all since we started joining this forum ?
You could use any board out there for the KL1.
There is quite some room in it there. If you managed to get the circuit out,
you only need to hook up the new circuit to the led and the rest of the body/battery contact.
If you can post pics of the innards and opened head you have, I can guide you through it.

1amp will be no problem for the Seoul![]()

To the eye not much difference between driving at 700mA or 100amA.
I recommend 700mA driving the SSC, and for max throw, get the smooth 20mm
reflector from Fred (PhotonFanatic). That's what I did...
holy crap! It was the emitter. It went intermittent and then shone no more. How wierd. I took the driver board out and hooked it up to my multimeter (wires all over the place here) and it's over 4 volts!!!. Tastes like juice but no spark on the emitter side. The original LuxIII lights up just fine. All I need to do now is get another SSCP4. I got this one from DX. Was there a recall/ warranty on these? The emitter looks perfect, just nothing coming out the front. Ever heard of that before?
Good to hear the circuit is still fine.
Heard some SSCs turning yellowish, but not failing.
Best of luck !
