Either way, is it OK if I change from a 2C to a 3C on the signup list?

BTW, you should make more Safety Magnets.

    Hahaha Re: BigLeef System (continued)

STATUS -- the redone C bodies are back and we're assembling the tailcaps and the Mag-D battery contact boards. We should send the first shipment of all the system parts to the Hound later this week.

As to the interest list, your enthusiastic response convinced me to make the BigLeef Series. Now that it's done, you can order whatever parts you want directly from the Hound. They should be on his page next week.

Thanx to all for waiting -- this has been a ridiculously long project.

BTW, the C bodies are knurled. The A123 (26650)/Moli bodies have the teardrop pattern. The C bodies will work with any number -- one to...well...zillions. However, the A123/Moli bodies work with one or two cells -- more than that only with magnet spacers. If there's enough demand for these sizes, I may do a run that will work for any length.

    Hahaha Re: BigLeef System (continued)

No pics from me yet, but I'm sending all the BigLeef System parts to the Hound today!

I'm off to Baja for the race. The ol' Hound may post some photos before I get back (1 week).

BTW, the finely knurled C bodies feel great and give lots of grip. I'm holding in my hand one of Milky's creations that I call the "Baja 1000" (he calls it the "M963 Pinky")-- 2x LiIon C cells, Mag-D head, 7 emitters (one of which is red-orange, to balance the overall color output). And best of all -- it's built on the BigLeef System!

    Photons forever!

    Great news!

Can you confirm the length of the "C" tubes is 53mm, to match AW's protected "C" Li-ons? My apologies if you've already posted this info.

Re Length: The C bodies fit the AW Li-Ion C cells just fine. So I suppose that means that the effective length of the bodies is the same as the cell's length.

Yep, been watching the Hound too... Now that I'm getting ready to leave on vacation, iif they come out over the break ts looking like I may miss the purchase as I doubt that much will be left if they come out over the holiday.

I also think that some of the 1x18XXX tubes may be out as well.

Basically I can't wait for the Big Leef to be done, not just because I want one, but because I want a bunch of the other stuff waiting in line to be made...

STATUS: Parts at the Hound, prices set. He's supposed to be photographing these and getting them on his Web site this weekend!

Step right up...these will disappear fast.

    BTW, they don't take 18650s, rather 26650s and C-cells.

The BigLeef system is for 26mm diameter cells ("C" Li-Ions, A123, Emoli).

The Bigleef has landed at Lighthound (and my obsessive compulsive checking has paid off).

Since they are in TX hopefully they can ship mine out today

You are correct - this has been confirmed to me by John at Lighthound. I'm waiting to hear how much of a delay is expected before these are available.

All the other items in gray HA are there.

As I remember, there aren't any Mag D necks in grey. As to SF, do/did they make any M heads in grey, or are they all black?

I still have a few unplated parts.

I guess that answers my question. Lighthound will not have any C to M bodies until you produce them.

Well, they're usually green, but I figure grey is closer than black - there are no black SF M heads.

I don't know of any SF M incandescent turbohead that is black. I think a lot of us will be hoping to use the KT4 that we either bought on its own or have taken from the M3T, M4T or M6. Leef has a photo of such a setup on the opening post of this thread. I know that a Leefhead is soon to be announced but I really want to use my KT4.

The KT4 is only available in HA Nat (gray-green). This is the same head as the M3T, M4 & M6.

So is there an actual source for A123 26650 Cells and more importantly fast chargers? The A123 systems developer's kit doesn't fit my fancy.

Leef, nice to see these beauties finally materialize. Now I have even more on my shopping list to try and squeeze in.

Now get to work on those C to C bodies.
    I really like the grooved C to E ones, but I need C to C for 2xCR123/ 1x18650.
Neutral white, it's the new black.

Yes, there's now a source of Moli and A123 cells -- without having to take apart the Milwaukee/DeWalt packs. See: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=178188.

This makes the BigLeef A123 bodies easy to use.

BigLeef System A123 Body Note: Because of an early miscalculation on the effective length of these bodies, they aren't the optimum length. This affects using more than two of these bodies together (for a three or more cell light). The bodies are slightly longer than they should have been (around 1/8"), so if you want to use three or more, you'll need a magnet spacer. For one cell they're great, and for two cells they should be okay without a spacer.

The BigLeef C cell bodies are the correct length (I did a second, corrected production run) and as many as desired can be used together -- subject only to Leef's "Height-Length First Law" that says that the light cannot be longer than the user is tall.

Keep in mind the advantages of the Moli and A123 cells -- huge discharge and recharge rates, especially the...uh...I forget which offers this feature, but see http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=178188 for the details. Hotwire guys, Nirvana is here!

I ordered a bunch of this stuff, in the C (Li-Ion) format. I look forward to their arrival.

If there is another run, may I suggest doing some of the C-sized bodies in the grooved design as well as knurled? As I was looking at the Lighthound photos, I was imagining alternating the two designs in the same multi-cell light. I think it would be an interesting effect.

    Two questions:

When will the Neck for SureFire M Head HA III Grey Finish be in stock?

When will the BigLeef Tailcap HA III Gray Finish be in stock?

They look great and I want them!

+1. My concern is whether the colour will match the other gray components because plainly they are going to be from another batch.

Months of waiting and the parts I want are sold out before I have a chance to see this thread.

I guess this is a first come, first serve type of thing now? What was the point of the interest list then?
