Are there any red filters that have a smooth/diffused beam?

I have the Surefire red filter and also their beamshaper. I wish the red filter was more like the beamshaper. I would rather have a smooth beam for using the light up close, instead of having the light still have an intense hotspot. Are there any filters like this?

You could use some 3M magic selotape and put that over the red filter or use Frosted glass effect spray paint, but thats a little more permenent

Just use the red filter and beamshaper together, the lens can be pushed out of the holder.

I used a red filter, sandwiched with a layer of

Glad Press & Seal plastic wrap. (Freezer Grade, which is 40% thicker).

Works great, and i'm very happy with it.

Note: This Press & Seal (at least the Freezer Grade, which i bought) has a very distinct BLUE tint.

The roll of it is Blue, after all. I was surprised when i opened the box.

But this had no noticeable effect when used with my Red filter.

But i wouldn't wanna' use it with my SMJLED-PR2 bulbs from Lambda !

Does anyone know if the "regular" grade (that is, "non-Freezer ")
also has this blue tint ?

Thank you for your help.

As others have said, if your red filter is plastic, a little sanding will diffuse the beam nicely. Scotch tape is a reversable mod with similar effects as long as heat isn't an issue.
