What are These Parts for with my G&P Crenellated Bezel?

Both of these parts came with my G&P crenellated bezel that I now have on my 9P. The silver piece is a non-threaded aluminum ring. The black one is a threaded piece similar to the original 9P lens retaining ring.

Of course, there were no instructions with the bezel. What are these for? I'm not using either piece and my 9P seems to be just fine. How can these be utilized?

they are sent in case you want to run it without the crenelated bezel. simply unscrew it and then put the other parts in it's place

That makes sense for the black lock ring: I can remove the crenellations and replace it with the lock ring. But what is the aluminum ring for?

The aluminum ring is a spacer, and goes in front of the lamp assembly when you use the head on a SureFire. Otherwise the lamp will be loose in the head, and not have good contact.

Hmm. My 9P seems to work great without the aluminum spacer. I'll keep an eye out for problems.
