I ordered a Surge based on opinions here, and although it was a coupla bucks more than at another vendor's website, people advised that BrightGuy's excellent service was worth it.

But when I opened the box today, I never expected that instead of my quickly shipped Surge would come -- TWO flashlights! Along with the Surge there was a brand-new PT Rage in clamshell pack complete with batteries and stainless steel ring clip.

I hereby state for the record that I am indeed well pleased with BrightGuy, will definitely order from them again, and want to sincerely Thank those of you who steered me there!

Someone else on the forum had this happen recently. Apparently it's some sort of promotional offer on the part of Brightguy.

On the main page of www.brightguy.com there is a box in yellow that says:

(edit - I corrected the link, thanks!)

"Sign up to be notified of BrightGuy specials and new products by email!"

I don't mind paying a LITTLE extra to a vendor that has a good rep and good service.

But in my opinion, buying off the internet should give three things:
- value
- product selection
- Customer service

I think that "tax savings" is canceled out with the shipping charges.

I think I got all three. Basically I received two very bright, useful flashlights for the price of one (around $25) and they only charged me $3.95 shipping TO HAWAII. When you add that to the fact there are no PT flashlights here at all that I can find (except at the overpriced SCUBA shops -- this is a sunny-weather-all-year-round paradise, after all), this is one heckuva bargain.

It was me that just ordered the Surge. I gave my Rage away though.
