I wonder if the whole thing isn't too long for an Osram 64440?

I think I will modify the socket to get some throw. Either make the al ring less thick or modify the mag switch (lot's of useless plastic there). Then I'll also extend the center hole so I can mount the socket directly on the al ring without using a nut or spacer to let the wires get in the center hole.

I got mine... Doesn't work. I followed the instructions. You show you solder to the back of the switch. I did that. Then I also soldered to the top of the switch. No power, no nothing! I wish the pictures were better!

EDIT: Damn... Now I can't even get the damn thing out! It's stuck and I keep turning the Allen wrench and it does not seem to loosen! AHHHH HELP!

Installing this ended up distroying the stock mag switch. I could not get the stupid thing to tighten in my mag. I just kept turning with an allen wrench, and I think I stripped it or something. Now the KIU socket is loose.

You might consider asking someone to just build a switch for you.. it seems you are having tons of trouble getting this to work and you come across as if you think it's Kiu's fault. The parts are high quality and this is a very simple mod. There isn't really any way to make it easier. I am going with operator error over faulty equipment on this one.

Can you at least post some pics. maybe we can see what you did wrong and help you get up and running. The socket has nothing to do with the part of the switch that houses the set screw, or the nut that it threads into. So a couple pics could be worth a thousand words.
