NG1000 compared to NG750. When to use?

In which situations would one use a NG750 and NG1000.

I've heard that NG750 is overdriven on lion cells, especially 17670.

Is this true for NG1000 too or is it safe to use lion cells with this?

I can't definitively answer your question concerning the NG1000 as I don't have any experience with one. However, I've been running a NG750 on 3.7V-4.2V Li-Ions for about a year now with no negative results whatsoever. I would imagine the NG1000 could do the same.

Give Milky a holler, not discounting these other men at all. But Scott knows an awful lot about lights or he can tell you who to ask. After all, he should know as its his main love. Besides his wife that is!

I EDC an Aleph 1 with an NG1000 SSC P4 LE, and run it soley off a single RCR123. I have had no problems with it at all.

On a full charge the emitter is still be overdriven even with the NG1000; it is a boost converter and the Vin is higher than the Vf.

If you plan to use a CR123, the NG1000 probably won't be in regulation for long as the cell can't handle the draw. The NG750 would be a better choice.
