Dave, that plafond knot looks nice!
Dave, that plafond knot looks nice!
Thanks Migs!
After tightening up a knot, I trim the ends as close to the knot as I can, a quick melt on the trimmed ends with the torch lighter to prevent fraying, and then use the tip of my hemostats or stylus to push/pull the ends into the knot where they're out of sight.
You can use a pin point applicator to add a very small amount of super glue into the knot, on the trimmed ends to further secure them, but if you've tightened the knot good, that's usually not necessary.
I made this mini bell rope keyfob for a friend who's hobby is bellringing

Thanks a lot mate all you guys have pretty cool staff here. I have learned a lot from Stormdrane. For the watermark, i use Photoshop, here is how did i made it: I have two layers background layer i use the picture with the knot i have make and foreground layer the picture i want to use as a watermark. In the layer that i want to make it looks like a watermark (in my case my blogs logo) i set it with 40% transparency. That’s it save it and uses it whenever you want.
I hope that help you….![]()

That's some beautiful works guys.
Can anyone suggest a good lanyard book for an absolute beginner? Also, a good place to buy supplies in the US?![]()
I have a very basic beginner book called Boondoggle: A Book Of Lanyard & Lacing. It comes with some lanyard material to get you started and I just checked Amazon.com where it is still available for about 10 bucks.
Kind of funny in the same vein of the "xxx For Dummies" series but the book says: "100% Klutz Certified" on the cover.
Hope this helps.
Another keyfob, this one I kept for myself!
If you are in the US the http://www.supplycaptain.com/ is a well known and good source for paracord.
They also ship overseas for anyone out side the US.
As for books, I've got this one which is good, there's a newer version out now.

This paracord lanyard/fob is made with a series of Chinese crown knots, also known as the Chinese cross knot, rustler's knot, or friendship knot(as the cords come into the knot it resembles arms with hands grasping the wrist of the others).

I don't know if it has not been asked before (didn't have time to go through the whole thread), but does anyone have a book about those lanyards and knots in PDF?
