I am putting together a LE for an Aleph A2 using the Aleph Light Engine Kit. Do I need to use a .030" spacer under the emitter? Since the Aleph E-Screw is anodized, I don't have to worry about isolating the emitter, correct?

Edit; I see that I have the McR20 reflector in the A2 head. Will sanding the back of it to bring it to the McR20-S's length be alright? This should also enlarge the emitter hole to what the S reflector is. I also noticed the texture of the two reflectors are different. What are your thoughts on that? (I have a Mcr20-S in another light).

Ok here what the deal is
-no need to isolate as the light engine screw/top/sink is anodized.
-two options with the reflector.
1. use the stock MCR-20, remove the .030 and shim up the LED .030
2. purchase the MCR-20-S which is .030 shorter and optmimzed for the seoul LED.

If you sand/cut you need to shim the LED if you use the MCR-20 regular, made for the Luxeon as the MCR-20-S its made for the Seoul.

good luck

Just want to say everything went together great. This was my first Aleph LE build. I feel good. :) It went into a bare aluminum A2. I used the McR20-S from my other light.

edit; Oh yeah, I used a V2.2 FLuPIC board
