Aixiz offers 200mW 650 nm red laserdiodes for DIY projects on their main page for $ 40 + shipping. Has anyone experience with these diodes?
They also offer a $4.50 housing. Both are to be used in the flashlight hack. Instead I would like to re-install it in an elcheapo 5mW pointer
I'm looking forward to build a red pointer that should be visible at night. Would 200mw of red be enough for that? I also have a DVD burner diode of unknown power from a 16x burner. Since I don't have a housing yet, I haven't been able to experiment with that one.
