Has anyone taken this flashlight apart all the way? If so, is there a "booster" as some suspect in the tailcap with the switch? How hard is removing the Cree star?
I know, a lot of questions! I am asking because I took the "lense" out & found it will fit in a housing I have from an old bike light. I think the star should fit also, just trying to figure out how it comes out of the flashlight & how hard it will be to reinstall int the housing. The housing is an ole Vista Lite 6v system. The newer Blackburn style higher end lights appear to be the "new" version, same basic style & look so you know if your familar with these lights.
I thought I would build a battery pack for the light if I do the upgrade.
Just looking to see if anyone has "dove" into this light.
